Mounting

One unique and less expensive method of preserving and displaying your artwork and other items is mounting. Framing Matters offers several different types of mounting options:

  • Float Mounting
  • Plaque Mounting
  • Flush Mounting
  • Foam Core Mounting

Plaque, Float, and Flush Mounting

Mounting art to wood is an economical method to frame something while still maintaining a professional look. Often used for less priceless objects, mounting is a great way to display items such as photos, maps, posters, drawings and any other artwork you can think of. All three types of mounting (Plaque, Float, and Flush) are done on smooth MDF wooden board.Contemporary looking, sturdy and great on the walls, all three types of mounting include a matte finish laminate for protection (offering UV protection as well), a beveled edge complete with a selection of standard colors to choose from (black or white being the most common), all built in the price.

Plaque Mount

The most economical of the three, this mount is about 3/8″ thickness, with a beveled edge. Most movie posters are mounted on this type.

Float Mount

The Float is a thinner board, supported by thick in-set rails from the back. Also includes a taped beveled edge. It is light in weight – ideal for large items because of the offered support. Mount leaves a shadow on the wall, which provides a beautiful floating effect.

Flush Mount

A Flush Mount has 7/8″ thick taped edge, displaying a nice wide bevel, and is also recommendedfor large items. Assorted colors are available.
